Profile editor
A profile describes a position/role that a person participating in business processes can hold in an organization. IA profile roughly corresponds to the job description. In iPB, a profile consists of two parts: informal that concerns business process model, and formal that should be field if you wish to use iPB as a system that supports your processes. In both parts a profile is described as related to each process and each step of the process
The profile editor screen looks like:
The screen have five working areas:
- Title and general description on the top
- Process list under general description to the left
- Step list to the right to the process list
- Process right &responsibility under the list
- Step rigths & responsibilities under the Process rights
To describe what a person should do in a particular step of a particular process:
- Select process from the process list by clicking on it. You will get a list of its steps in the step list to the right
- Select a step (or several steps) in the step list. You will get the Step rights & responsibilities box expanded
- Describe the rights and responsibilities informally in the text box and formally by checking the boxes
To describe what a person should do in a process of the given type in general
- Select the process in the process list, but do not select any steps. You will get the Process rights & responsibilities box expanded as in the picture below
