iPB-designer - functionality

The designer component provides means for creating process definitions and profiles.

While working with a process definition, a developer can:

• Create a new process definition
• Attach textual description to the process
• Define steps and arrange them in a map (module Map designer)
• Provide textual description of each step
• Design and attach to each step a eForm (module Form designer)
• Define business rules (module Business rules editor)
• Export and import process definitions in XML format

While working with a profile (module Profile editor), the developer can

• Create a new profile
• Attach textual description to a profile
• For each process type attach textual description of in what way a person with this profile can be engaged in the processes of the given type
• For each process type define formal rights for starting/finishing, etc. of processes of this type
• For each step of each process type attach textual description of what a person with such profile can/should do in this step
• For each step of each process type define formal rights for starting/finishing, etc. of the step
